Scan, price and list Magic: The Gathering cards in one workflow

Photograph or scan your English and German Magic cards. NeoSatoshi identifies each card from its printed text, takes the printing from the set code where the card has one, keeps foil and non-foil apart with their own prices, and turns the batch into eBay, Shopify or Cardmarket listings.

Built for the way Magic cards are sold

One Magic card can have dozens of printings at very different prices, and each printing can be foil or non-foil. NeoSatoshi keeps all of it apart for every card in the batch, from detection to the finished listing.

Card detection from photos and scans

Upload one card per photo or scan. NeoSatoshi identifies the card from its printed text and adds name, set code, number, rarity, a confidence value, alternative matches and current market prices. A wrong match is fixed with the manual search by card name.

English and German cards

English and German Magic cards are supported. The language is read from the card and can be changed per card in the review table. German cards keep their German name for your listings.

Prices per printing and finish

Cardmarket prices in EUR, or in CHF or USD at the daily exchange rate, plus TCGplayer prices, always for exactly that printing and with separate foil prices. For eBay you can also load the median asking price of active listings on your eBay marketplace, matched on printing, language and finish.

eBay Direct Listing and CSV

Publish straight to your eBay account or download the eBay CSV. The title carries the set and number after the card name, foil copies are marked as foil, and game and manufacturer are filled in as Magic: The Gathering and Wizards of the Coast.

Shopify products

Create products directly in your Shopify store, with a dry-run preview first, or export a Shopify CSV. Foil and non-foil copies stay apart. NeoSatoshi is also available as an app in the Shopify App Store.

Cardmarket, custom exports and API

Download the TCGPowerTools import file for Cardmarket, or a custom CSV or JSON export for other tools. Developers can send Magic cards to the Detection API with "tcg": "magic".

Daily price sync that never guesses

On the Business plan or higher, the daily price sync keeps your eBay and Shopify prices current and prices each printing and finish separately. A printing it cannot pin down is skipped and reported, never priced by guesswork.

Watched scan folder for document scanners

In desktop Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera, NeoSatoshi watches the folder your scanner saves to, adds new JPEG or PNG scans automatically and pairs fronts and backs. Any document scanner that saves images into a folder works, with one card per scan.

The card first, then the printing

The same Magic card can be cheap in one printing and expensive in another. NeoSatoshi keeps printings and finishes apart, from the review table to the finished listing.
  • One card often has many printings, and they often share the same artwork. The artwork alone cannot tell them apart, so the printed set code decides.

  • Cards since the 2014 frame carry their set code and number at the bottom. NeoSatoshi takes the printing from there.

  • Cards before the 2014 frame have no set code on the card, so you pick the printing in step 2 of Listing Cards. Every option shows the set code, number, rarity and price, and one button loads all printings of the card.

  • Until the printing is known, the card has no price. It is never filled with a minimum price or the cheapest printing.

  • Foil is a switch on every card, because the scan does not read the finish. Switching it moves the market prices and the listing price to the foil or non-foil price. Printings that only exist as foil are fixed to foil.

  • Foil and non-foil copies are never mixed up: each has its own price and its own SKU.

Best fit for this workflow

This page is for sellers who list Magic singles and want one workflow from photo to listing.

Fit 1

You list Magic singles in volume

Typing set, number, rarity and language for every card is the slow part. Detection fills them in for the whole batch, and you only decide what the photo cannot show.

Fit 2

You sell reprints and older cards

When a card exists in dozens of printings, the wrong pick costs money. NeoSatoshi asks instead of guessing and shows the price of every printing.

Fit 3

You sell on more than one marketplace

One reviewed batch can go to eBay, Shopify and Cardmarket, so you never enter the same cards three times.

1

Review every match in one table

Each detected card appears with set code, number, rarity, language, finish and prices. Fix a wrong match by picking another printing or searching by card name.

2

List directly or export a file

Publish to eBay or Shopify, or download the eBay, Shopify, TCGPowerTools or custom export file.

How it works

Five steps from a stack of Magic cards to live listings.
1

Choose Magic: The Gathering

In step 1 of Listing Cards, pick Magic: The Gathering with the card game switch. A batch is always one game.

2

Upload photos or scans

Upload one card per photo or scan, or use the watched scan folder. Unlike Pokémon, where one photo can hold several cards, every Magic card needs a photo of its own.

3

Pick printings, set foil and condition

Where the card shows no set code, pick the printing in step 2. Then switch your foil copies to foil and set the condition. Every card starts as Near Mint (NM).

4

Set your prices

Start from Cardmarket, TCGplayer or eBay prices and add a markup per price range, a minimum price and rounding.

5

List or export

Publish to eBay or Shopify directly (Business plan or higher) or download the eBay, Shopify, TCGPowerTools or custom export on any plan.

Good to know before you start

What NeoSatoshi does for your Magic cards, and what it leaves to you.

You set the condition

NeoSatoshi identifies the card, it does not grade it. Every card starts as Near Mint (NM), and you change the condition per card or in bulk edit. On a graded slab we read the grade off the label, we never estimate condition.

English and German only

Only English and German Magic cards are supported. Cards in other languages, such as French, Italian, Spanish or Japanese, give no card and use no card scan. Tokens and art cards are not in the catalog either.

One card per photo

Each Magic card needs its own photo or scan. Unlike Pokémon, several cards in one photo are not detected.

You set the finish

The scan does not read the finish. A card starts as non-foil unless its printing only exists as foil, so switch your foil copies before you price them.

Common questions

Which Magic languages does NeoSatoshi recognise?
English and German. The language is read from the card and can be changed per card. Cards in any other language, such as French, Italian, Spanish or Japanese, give no card and use no card scan.
How does NeoSatoshi know which printing I have?
It identifies the card from its printed text, then takes the printing from the set code and number at the bottom of the card. Cards before the 2014 frame have no set code, so you pick the printing in step 2 of Listing Cards, where every option shows its set code, number, rarity and price.
Why does a card have no price?
Because its printing is not known yet, and one card can cost very different amounts from printing to printing. Pick the printing in step 2 and the price of that printing appears. NeoSatoshi never fills in a minimum price or the cheapest printing.
Does NeoSatoshi know if a Magic card is foil?
No, the scan does not read the finish. Every card has a Foil switch in the review table, also available in bulk edit. It changes the market prices and the listing price to the foil or non-foil price. Printings that only exist as foil are fixed to foil.
Can I list graded Magic cards?
Yes. On PSA, BGS and CGC slabs the grading company, the grade and the cert number are read from the label. We read the grade off the label, we never estimate condition. Slabs of other grading companies you enter by hand, and the rule of English and German cards applies to slabs too.
Where can I sell Magic cards with NeoSatoshi?
On eBay (Direct Listing or the eBay CSV), on Shopify (Direct Listing or the Shopify CSV) and on Cardmarket through the TCGPowerTools CSV. A custom CSV or JSON export is available for other tools, and developers can use the Detection API.
Does NeoSatoshi grade the condition of my cards?
No. Detection identifies the card, not its condition. Every card starts as Near Mint (NM), and you set the condition yourself before listing.
Can I photograph several Magic cards at once?
No. Magic needs one card per photo or scan. A document scanner makes this quick: any scanner that saves JPEG or PNG files into a folder works, and in desktop Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera the watched scan folder adds new scans automatically and pairs fronts and backs.
Do I need a paid plan?
No. Everyone gets 10 free card scans per day, and the Free plan includes monthly card scans and every export file. eBay and Shopify Direct Listing and the daily price sync need the Business plan or higher.
