Where should I sell One Piece cards: Cardmarket, eBay or Shopify?
Direct answer
It depends on where your buyers are and what you sell. Cardmarket suits sellers with many singles and buyers in Europe, eBay gives worldwide reach and suits higher-value cards, and your own Shopify store builds a customer base but needs you to bring the traffic. Many One Piece sellers use two or all three channels, and the real cost of that is entering every card again for each channel, which a photo-to-listing tool removes.
The short comparison
- Cardmarket: buyers mostly in Europe, one product page per card and version where offers compete on price, condition and seller rating, and a commission on each sale. Strong for steady singles sales. Bulk uploads need a commercial seller account.
- eBay: buyers worldwide, fixed price or auction, and your title, photos and item specifics decide whether you are found. Fees per sale, with rules that differ between eBay sites.
- Shopify: your own store and brand, a monthly subscription plus payment fees, and no marketplace traffic. Buyers come from your community, social channels, events or search.
Cardmarket: pros and cons for One Piece sellers
Pros
- Buyers search by exact card and version, so an offer on the right product is found without a clever title.
- Price transparency: you see the competing offers on the same product page.
- Little work per listing once the product is right, especially with a CSV import.
Cons
- You compete mainly on price, and margins on cheap cards are thin.
- Every version of a card (regular, parallel, reprints) and every language is its own product, so you must pick the right one. See how to list parallel and alternate art cards.
- Bulk listing needs a commercial account and a tool such as TCGPowerTools.
- A commission on each sale. Check the current fee table on Cardmarket.
eBay: pros and cons
Pros
- Worldwide reach, including buyers outside Europe.
- Room for presentation: your own photos, a description and multi-card listings where buyers pick the card from a dropdown.
- A good fit for higher-value singles, where buyers want to see the actual copy.
Cons
- Fees per sale, plus optional promotion costs.
- Buyers rely on your title and item specifics; vague titles are not found.
- More work per listing without a tool: policies, item specifics and photos for every card.
Shopify: pros and cons
Pros
- No platform between you and the buyer: your brand, your customer list, your rules.
- Works well for regular customers and for sales to your own community or at events.
Cons
- No built-in buyers. Without your own traffic the store stays quiet.
- Subscription and payment costs, whether you sell a lot or not.
- You run the whole store: shipping settings, legal pages and customer service.
Fees: what to compare
Fees change and depend on your country, account type and category, so check the current fee pages of each platform instead of a number from an article. Compare like for like: commission or final value fee per sale, payment processing, listing or subscription costs, and shipping. The method in how to calculate your card profit margin works for One Piece cards too.
Running several channels from one batch with NeoSatoshi
- Open Listing Cards, choose One Piece under Card game and upload photos or scans. Several cards per photo work, with best results up to about 20 cards per photo.
- Detection identifies each card with name, card code, set, rarity, colour, type and language (English or Japanese) and adds Cardmarket prices.
- Cards that exist in several versions, for example a parallel or a reprint, go through step 2, where "All versions of this card" shows each version with its image so you can pick the one you hold.
- Set the condition (every card starts as Near Mint) and the quantity.
- In step 4, use several export tiles on the same batch: a TCGPowerTools CSV for Cardmarket, eBay Direct listing or an eBay CSV, and Shopify Direct listing or a Shopify CSV. Each export has its own price settings, so eBay can be priced differently from Cardmarket.
- Exports and direct listing runs are saved in the Listing Archive, where you can reload a batch later and list it on another channel.
On eBay the game item specific is One Piece Card Game and the manufacturer is Bandai, and eBay and Shopify templates are kept separately per game. Details are on the One Piece listing software page, the eBay One Piece listing tool page and in the Cardmarket listing workflow. Short walkthroughs are on the NeoSatoshi YouTube channel.
What NeoSatoshi does and does not do here
- It creates eBay listings and Shopify products directly (Business plan and up) or as CSV files (every plan), and reaches Cardmarket through the TCGPowerTools CSV. There is no direct Cardmarket upload.
- It does not sync stock between Shopify and eBay automatically yet (in development). If the same copy is listed on two channels, take it down on the other one when it sells, or split your stock by channel.
- It does not list on TCGplayer, CardTrader or Ricardo.
- It does not grade cards or check authenticity.
Frequently asked questions
Which channel is best for a new One Piece seller?
Start where your buyers are. In Europe with many singles, Cardmarket is the usual starting point. With fewer, higher-value cards or international buyers, start with eBay. Add a Shopify store once you have regular customers who come back to you.
Can I list the same cards on Cardmarket and eBay at the same time?
Yes, but then you manage stock yourself: when a card sells on one channel, take it down on the other. NeoSatoshi does not sync stock between channels automatically yet.
Do I need a commercial Cardmarket account?
For bulk uploads through a CSV file, yes: Cardmarket allows them only for commercial sellers, and the TCGPowerTools route needs one. Private sellers can still list cards one by one on the Cardmarket website.
Can I sell Japanese One Piece cards on all three channels?
Yes. State the language clearly, and on Cardmarket make sure the offer is on the Japanese product. See English vs Japanese One Piece cards for sellers.
Is NeoSatoshi available as a Shopify app?
Yes, as NeoSatoshi TCG Sync in the Shopify App Store. Direct listing to Shopify needs the Business plan or higher; the Shopify CSV export is available on every plan.
